Thursday 17 May 2012 sees the launch of Molton Brown’s first full shaving collection for men. With a razor, shave brush and stand, the collection contains everything the modern grooming connoisseur could wish for. For Molton Brown, it’s all about the details: The choice of bristle. The curve of a handle. The weight and balance. Each element has been selected for its performance and resilience, as well as its dapper good looks.

The Razor: a black, chrome-plated razor with a disposable Gillette Fusion razor head and subtle, sophisticated branding (the seal of Molton Brown quality). Quick on the draw for precision jobs like beards or side burns and perfect for the daily shave.

Brighton gets dressed for summer

Over the next few weeks thousands of meters of bunting, hundreds of hanging baskets and banners will be installed throughout the BID area to add to its vibrancy and help give the city a summer long festival feel.

Brilliant Brighton (Brighton’s city centre Business Improvement District) is solely funded by 517 City Centre businesses who are investing nearly £1.8m in the city centre up until 2016.

As well as dressing the city for summer, Brilliant Brighton also provides the City Centre Ambassadors, teams of people who crack down on crime in the city centre by catching shoplifters and dealing with anti-social behaviour. When they aren’t fighting crime, they are always on hand to help members of the public find their way around the city. The businesses also pay for the spectacular yearly displays of Christmas lights, which make the city sparkle through the winter months.

On top of that, www.brilliantbrighton.com is a new website for all the BID businesses to advertise their offers, or let people know about events that they are holding in the BID area. It’s only been running for a few months and already has a following of over 1400 on twitter.

Krafty Cuts at Simon Webster Hair

The work of local session-stylist Simon Webster, artistic director at Simon Webster Hair salon on Gardner Street, has again featured on film – this time it’s the video for the new single of international breakbeat producer and DJ, Krafty Kuts.

The video for ‘Pounding’ featuring MC Dynamite was filmed on location in London a few months ago and Simon was asked to style the dancers’ hair for the street shots which were spliced with live footage of Krafty Kuts and MC Dynamite performances. The job came just weeks after Simon Webster styled for Kevin Rowland’s reformed Dexys, working on the cover of acclaimed new album ‘One Day I’m Going To Soar’.

Simon Webster’s work has featured in many editorial and music videos but he still says his greatest pleasure is working with clients in-salon. ‘Although the session work is an outlet for more avante garde creations and inspirations, working with my clients to give them wearable, individual styles is what drives me.’
