City centre artwork showcases all that is brilliant about Brighton

Colourful banners lining city centre streets are now in place, displaying an array of Brighton’s most iconic attractions.

From The Lanes to West Pier, the Royal Pavilion to the British Airways i360, ten of the city’s most famous landmarks are being celebrated through eye-catching artwork, weaving high above North Street and Western Road.

The banners, which span the width of the city centre streets, have been designed and provided by the 517 Brighton businesses who form Brilliant Brighton (also known as Brighton’s Business Improvement District). The organisation also organise the cheerful bunting displayed in North Laine and The Lanes and stunning floral hanging baskets, arranged throughout the city centre, to brighten up the streets during the summer months for visitors, holidaymakers and residents alike to enjoy.

Gavin Stewart, CEO of Brilliant Brighton says: “This year we wanted to celebrate all that was brilliant about Brighton; from the independent shops of North Laine and The Lanes, to the city’s inspiring arts culture with Brighton Dome and its beautiful regency architecture, depicted by banners including images of Brighton Bandstand and the Royal Pavilion.

“We hope that, with their bright, bold and beautiful colours, the summer artwork will make people smile and encourage them to enjoy all our seaside city has to offer – whether they’re first time visitors or longstanding residents. We’d love for people to share their favourite banner with us – just use #BrilliantBrighton when posting a photo on social media!”
