On The Edge with Simon Webster Hair

On The Edge at Cadogan Hall, London, saw many of the industry’s greatest icons presenting what Vidal Sassoon has meant to them.

The evening was presented by Tribu-te Magazine, with a segment by Hair Club Live, and was a feast of hair, history, artistry and true icons of style. And Brighton’s award-winning hair salon, Simon Webster Hair, were proud that Senior Stylist, Hannah De Frateschi, was there on-stage with the best.

The show opened with a stunning live art piece by Sassoon Academy’s Silvia Salerno that combined art, fashion and hairdressing as perfect homage to how Vidal Sassoon revolutionised the world of hairdressing forever. Trevor Sorbie, John Vial and Tim Hartley demonstrated just why they have achieved their fame for great cutting, recounting anecdotes of working on the Sassoon team and how the man himself shaped their careers. The evening was funny, inspiring and educational and with a guest appearance by Blitz Kid, model and icon in her own right Scarlet Cannon.  On The Edge was the first of what is hoped will be an annual Tribute event.

SWH Team’s Hannah won a Hair Club Live competition to express how Vidal had inspired her and was invited to read her fifty-word presentation to the audience of hair professionals and publications. She got to mingle backstage with her hair heroes as well as getting a huge round of applause from her hair industry peers in the audience.
