Brighton Gogglebox Boys To Turn On The Xmas Lights!

With the Brighton Christmas lights switch-on event now just days away, we’re so excited to announce that our Gogglebox favourites (and Brighton boys) Stephen Webb and Chris Butland-Steed will be flicking the switch and declaring Christmas 2017 here!

We caught up with the dynamic duo to find out more about their plans for Christmas, hear what’s on their Christmas lists and chat about their excitement for Thursday night!

What do you love most about Christmas in Brighton?

Chris: There’s always lots of things to do in Brighton over Christmas whereas a lot of other places close down.

Stephen: Christmas time is great in Brighton! The city is busy and festive.

Have you got a favourite Christmas light?

Chris: Ding Dong, because every time you see it you can’t help but say “Ding Dong” in the style of Leslie Phillips!

Stephen: Yes Ding Dong is the winner for me too!

What do you want for Christmas?

Chris: Diamonds, and lots of them, because they’re a gay’s best friend!

Stephen: It may sound cheesy, but I want peace, health and happiness for everyone!

Where will you be picking up your Christmas pressies from in Brighton?

Chris: If I’m looking for something a little unique I’d take a look in North Laine.

Stephen: I’m not buying any gifts this year as Daniel and I are getting married in July so all our pennies are being spent on that!

What are you up to this Christmas?

Chris: Hopefully our loft conversion and ground floor works will be finished so we can have a nice family Christmas at ours with Tony’s parents and my mum.

Stephen: We are off to the Maldives!

What are you looking forward to most about the switch-on event?

Chris: Seeing all the excitement from the crowd watching the lights go on really makes me feel like Christmas is just around the corner.

Stephen: I can’t wait to see everyone’s face light up!

And finally, anything exciting happening in 2018 for you?

Chris: This year has been a very busy year with the garden, the house and the wedding, and so we’re looking forward to going on some nice holidays and relaxing a bit more. Our garden has been accepted onto the National Garden Scheme so Tony and I are looking forward to opening it to the public and raising lots of money for charity.

Stephen: Daniel and I will be starting the New Year in the Maldives and then we will be planning our perfect wedding in the beautiful Château de Lisse in the south of France!

See Stephen and Chris switch-on Brighton’s Christmas lights on Thursday (16th November) from 5pm in East Street!
