OctoberBEST is back!

Brighton’s OctoberBEST restaurant festival returns for its fourth year and is set to be bigger and better than ever. From 4-20th October 2019, 28 of the top restaurants in the city (as compiled by Brighton’s Best Restaurants) will be offering special £20 menus or offers that celebrate Brighton’s diverse independent dining scene.

A raft of restaurants are taking part for the first time this year: family-run Chard will be hosting “Dining at the Long Table” at their elegant space in Hove, a communal three-course meal focusing on the best local, seasonal produce, while Easy Tiger’s selection of Keralan dishes will celebrate the food of one of India’s most richly diverse regions. Lucky Khao’s Northern Thai plates will include Organic goat pad phrik and grilled Poole Bay clams, while other new participants Halisco, Baby Bao, Kujira and Polpo will also be showcasing their eclectic Mexican, Taiwanese, Japanese and Italian menus respectively.

“We are delighted with this year’s OctoberBEST line up, it’s the most varied and exciting yet,” says Andy Lynes, who founded Brighton’s Best Restaurants in 2015 alongside fellow Brightonians Patrick McGuigan and Euan MacDonald. “Brighton’s restaurant scene is now firmly established as one of the best in the country and OctoberBEST is a fantastic opportunity for locals and visitors alike to really explore the city’s culinary offerings without breaking the bank.

“The menus are all looking great this year, from ‘A Taste of Autumn’ at the Ginger Fox in Henfield –winner of ‘Best Out of Town Destination’ at 2019’s Brighton’s Best Restaurant Awards – to The Chilli Pickle’s ‘Little India in Singapore’, two nose-to-tail fish menus at Riddle and Finns, small plates at Bincho Yakitori, 64 Degrees, Fourth and Church and Plateau, classic French fare at Petit Pois, and loads more,” adds Andy. “Etch – headed by MasterChef: the Professionals winner Steven Edwards – are even running competitions on their social media over the next few weeks where customers can win an incredible nine courses for £20. The buzz is really building, and we think this year will be the best to date.”

Brighton’s Best Restaurants is also working with a host of supplier partners this year – Enotria & Coe, Ridgeview, The Cheese Man, Premier Fruits, Brighton & Newhaven Fish Sales, Timpson’s Meat, Poultry & Game, and Bolney Wine Estate Vermouth – all purveyors of some of the finest produce available, plenty of which will be appearing on the £20 menus.
